Fall Favorite - The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English (New York City)

I love October for many reasons:

  1. I welcome the mild fall weather which is a pleasant escape from the sometimes brutal summer heat.
  2. I get to wear the latest fall fashions--I also have an excuse to go buy the "must-have" boot/bootie.
  3. Oktoberfest
  4. Halloween--I have finally narrowed my costume down to two options: Drag Queen or Effie Trinket from Hunger Games.
  5. Unveiling of new Fall/Seasonal menus at all the restaurants! 
I seriously can not get enough Pumpkin Spice, Salted Caramel, Apple or Butternut Squash--bring it on!  

I knew I needed a good meal before visiting the "Regarding Warhol: Sixty Artists, Fifty Years" exhibit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art so I decided to start my adventure at the The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English.

I absolutely LOVE this place and I don't know why I do not visit more frequently.  It reminds me of a miniature version of Harrods Food Hall in London which is one of my Top 5 favorite places in the world.  On this particular visit I brought my appetite and a friend who would be my excuse for ordering multiple entrees.  I asked our waiter for his favorite thing and I could tell just from the sparkle in his eyes when he made his recommendation that I was not going to be disappointed.  I was glad to see that his suggestions fit right in with my little Autumn Theme:

I don't exactly know what is in this drink but it is delicious.  The Apple Butter made it even better!  The copper cup was also a nice touch.

This was definitely lick your plate good--although I do not think that behavior is appropriate for The Plaza Hotel!  Brown Butter, Sage and Parmesan all wrapped up into mouth watering pasta is truly worth every single carbohydrate.  I am glad my friend and I decided to get the larger portion because we probably would have stopped speaking to each other if we had shared the smaller one.

We left the Food Hall satisfied and ready for our day of Warhol.  We also are now ready to fully welcome the Fall.
