Gourmand Dad Favorite - Opus Bistro (Kemah, TX)

In honor of Gourmand Dad on this Father's Day, I decided to write about one of his favorite restaurants.  Opus Bistro is a fantastic restaurant and is located just steps away from the Kemah Boardwalk.  You can arrive in style by boat and dock it at the marina in the back of the restaurant.  The other trendy thing I noticed was all the people driving around in their electric carts--it made me want to get one!

I understand why Gourmand Dad frequents Opus Bistro so often.  Below are some of his favorite dishes--I also threw in some of the Gourmand Clan's favorites as well!

Asparagus Parmesan

Jumbo asparagus encrusted with Parmesan and jumbo lump crab meat and tomatoes.  This appetizer makes an appearance every visit!
FANTASTIC!

French Onion Soup

The soup is simple and delicious.
There is nothing like a good French Onion Soup

Crab Salad

Blue crab, avocado, mango, tomato and basil. If you are looking for something on the lighter side but still filling then you will enjoy the Crab Salad.
Lump crab meat and avocado are never a bad combo

Veal New Orleans

Lightly breaded veal sautéed in a Béarnaise sauce and paired with a lobster tail.  I actually saw a few patrons using their fingers to get the last tastes of the sauce.

Lamb Chop Special

Ridiculous!  Cooked to perfection--thanks JD--and mouthwatering.  I've been told this is a very popular special

I used my hands to get all the meat off the bone!

Red Snapper Charlie Brown

Gulf red snapper lightly breaded and topped with mushrooms, artichokes and crab meat all served up with brown butter sauce.  This is probably one of his favorite dishes and it is also mine.  We both decided to try something different so we refrained from the usual however next time the will be Charlie Brown!

Apfel

Poached apple stuffed with brown sugar, butter and raisins all wrapped up in a puff pastry all topped off with a vanilla custard sauce.  I was told this is a German classic and I must say that it is pretty darn good!
köstliche

I am glad I was able to share some of my father's favorite meals with you on this Father's Day.  To the Gourmand Dad, I love you very much.  Happy Father's Day!
